DEATH NOTICES  - general information about deceased will contain  his /her full name, spouse (if any)  decendants such as: children, siblings, grand children (if any) name of  funeral home,  church services location, and name of cemetery .  Placement of death notices in newspapers  are done with persmission of surviving family/relatives.  The funeral home would advise and provide  this service for a fee, family was under no obligation to submit a death notice.  In many cases, they just could not afford the fee.

OBITUARIES - a researchers dream when available.  The information about the deceased  is  more biographical in presentation.  In general, full name, date and place of birth, length of  residence in city, spouse name if any (married date or lenght of marriage) names of children, siblings.military service etc.    Obituaries were selected especially if the deceased held a prominent position with the city.   For example, doctor, lawyer, buisness owner, governmental, teacher and within their lifetime made a major contributon to the quality of life for all citizens of Oakland County and or MIichigan
With Exact Date of Death    $ 10. 00   per request. Includes search of above papers & microfilm copy when found with documentation of the located newspaper name, date, page and column #, postage and handling.

With Month and Year ONLY  $ 15. 00  per request.  Includes search of newspapers for  35 / 36 day period beginning with the first day of the month plus  5  days into the next month & postage.  Also if not found in one paper, the other papers listed above will be searched within the dates of publication

The Oakland Press was the main newspaper for Oakland County  Michigan residents.   The Royal Oak Tribune  was devoted to the life long residents  or  those who migrated to the city of Royal Oak from mainly Detroit. and surrounding suburbs   The Detroit News / Free Press will be searched in addition if not found in the above mentioned  main Oakland County newspapers.
